after shooting over 100 glorious wedding days all over the U.S. (and beyond) i'm absolutely floored by the impact that weddings have on me time and time again.

a bride once told me a few days after her wedding day, "thanks for being on our team throughout our day." those words had weight. they made me think about the impact that a photographer can have on a wedding day + what i wanted my impact to be. here's what i'm all about.

i'm that behind the scenes, let moments unfold as they go, kind of photographer. the one that lets emotions and laughs and inevitable hiccups roll but still manages to stick to the timeline kind of photographer. the one that cares more about moments than poses. the one that lets you be you instead of trying to fit your day into a mold of a static 'go through the motions' kind of day. the one that wants to know you, be your confidant and eye contact bud when your uncle joe won't stop bombarding you with his point and shoot camera all day. your relentless encourager when the anxiety creeps in. your teammate whenever you need one.

on my wedding day, my grandpa chuck was in the thick of fighting his battle with Alzheimer's. he didn't know who i was, but when he saw me in my dress, he bolted over to me, held my hands, and looked into my eyes. he didn't say much, but i knew he knew. our photographer kelly captured this moment as it unfolded, and i will forever be grateful for her being there at the right time and place. she didn't care that the lighting was bad or that he interrupted her portrait time with us. she captured this moment anyway, seeing it as something important and valued and just as beautiful as perfectly posed portraits of a bride and groom. she cared about us. and it's one of my most cherished photos we have. i've held onto this memory as the standard of the type of photographer i want to be.

i'm also the photographer that sees your ceremony as something incredibly sacred. a place that needs space to breathe + doesn't need a camera clad woman running around like a madman. i respect your moments, i don't interrupt them, and i can pick up on social and emotional cues when it's my time to chime in, and when it's my time to step back.

money is a touchy subject. and this investment might seem daunting. but, you're paying for so much more than photos. you're investing in a care-free, easy experience where you're taken care of. because i'm on your team, and i care deeply about you having an amazing day. really really, i do.
