GREG + OLIVIA | DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
I've known Olivia since middle school. She is one of those people who you are just drawn to. She has been such a special person in my life and when she and Greg asked me to shoot their wedding, it was an indescribable feeling! Seeing and witnessing a dear friend marry the love of their life is so so amazing.
Greg and Liv were married in the Dominican Republic at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe, and incredible hotel near Punta Cana. Wedding festivities began with a rooftop rehearsal with everyone dressed in white. As we walked down to the beach, a surprise of candles and music was waiting on the sand and Liv and Greg were surrounded by family and friends celebrating them and the calm before the craziness.
The wedding day began with relaxing, enjoying the warm air, hair and makeup (done by the bridesmaids!!) and champagne in the presidential suite. Liv was so calm and excited. In a private garden on the hotel grounds, Greg saw Liv for the first time and could hardly stand up. Jaw to the FLOOR moment! It was a first look I will never, ever forget.
This day was full of relaxing. After bride + groom portraits, Olivia even took her dress off to cool down and sat and had a snack (whaaaa?!). I got to sit with her and just talk about the day and how she was feeling. Greg got to spend extra time with his guys. It was GOOD.
After a toast and a prayer, Liv and Greg were ready to seal the deal. The ceremony was beautiful and equipped with live music, sunshine, warm ocean air, and the sound of swaying palm trees. The intimate ceremony was perfect for the setting we were in, and everyone listened intently to the incredible vows that were exchanged. Jesus was present and it was felt.
Liv and Greg danced back down the aisle with so much joy. Being married, finally, is the best feeling! With the bridal party behind them, we walked down to the beach to celebrate. No more than 20 minutes later, a tropical rainstorm swept through and we all laughed. It was the perfect time for it to rain, after everything that needed to be outdoors was done ;).
The reception began and the dance party quickly followed. And boy, did we dance. Fire dancers, an incredible DJ and a rowdy group makes for the best kind of party.
Olivia and Greg have a special kind of love. The kind of love that 85 people would travel across the country (and for some, the world!) to witness. I love you both, thank you for having me. :)
